#Girl Fearless Welcomes Victoria Wheeler!!!

My name is Victoria Elizabeth Wheeler and I’m super excited to newest member of #Girl Fearless.

I just recently turned 12 years old and love playing basketball with my parks and rec team named Starzz. I’m a wing and power forward and my favorite part of playing basketball is the team. It makes me so happy to score because everyone cheers for me. And I like learning new things from my coaches too.

Being #Girl Fearless to me means that I will try to be strong and not scared of anything I want or have to do. I recently had  mouth surgery and that was super scary. It was painful too but I knew I had to be brave even though I thought I couldn’t go through with it. Soon I will have to have my tonsils removed as well and although I’m nervous about that I know that because I was fearless before I can be fearless again.

I’m excited about being #Girl Fearless and can’t wait to share more with you about my experiences.

The Biggest Girl Fearless Moment of My Life! What's Yours?

Recently I saw the preview for the movie Patriot's Day and aside from the obvious unfortunate circumstances I thought about the tenacity and determination of the runners.

And then it reminded me. I'm a two time full marathoner and thirteen time half marathoner. Wow!

I thought back to the first time I set out on this running journey and how I had zero confidence that I could run three miles, let alone 26.2.

Running the NYC marathon was absolutely the biggest Girl Fearless moment in my life.

I was fearful but determined and every milestone (10 miles, 18 miles, 23 miles) felt deeply rewarding in so many ways.

It gave me the confidence to know that whatever I set my mind to do, I can, even if I don't believe it at first.

It's something that I will carry with me always and all I had to do was try.

So, what has been the biggest Girl Fearless moment in your life?

"The only way to begin, is to begin".

This is my motivation for picking up the virtual pen today. GirlFearless has been a passion of mine for quite some time but as life goes, sometimes other priorities get in the way.

As those who have come before me, its my passion and duty to be of service and help mentor. So today starts the rebirth of GirlFearless.

I'm more passionate than ever to help and grow with you young ladies!

If I've worked with you in the past I'll be reaching out soon.

And to anyone reading this, if you know of an 11-17 year old Girl Fearless who would be interested in partnering with me to blog and discuss their passions, concerns and how they live a GirlFearless life please message, inbox, text or call!

What's Holding You Back From Your Greatness?

#GirlFearless was founded on the belief that whatever you put your mind to, no matter what the feat, you can and will accomplish with hard work and dedication.

So often the things that hold us back from accomplishing what we want is our FEAR.

As a teenager, it may seem that so many things are out of your reach.

But in actuality its a lot closer than you think once you open your mind to the possibilities.

Your GREATNESS is only limited by your thinking. I can't, not now, I'm not ready, no one has ever done it before...this type of thinking limits the possibilities in your life.

Yesterday's challenge was about positively focusing your energy. Today I challenge you to question your thinking, push past any thoughts of self doubt and push forward towards what you want to accomplish.

Today and everyday is a chance to get one step closer to your goal!

Challenge: Where Are You Focusing Your Energy?!

Hello ladies,

Its been quite sometime since I've been able to write to you as I've been working on some personal goals.

Lately I've been pondering on the thought of focusing energy.

First it starts with mental energy (what are you thinking, how are you feeling, do you have a positive mindset?).

Then what about the energy that you give off (are you acting, speaking and behaving positively and how are you impacting others?)

Believe it or not, this actually applies to so many things in life. Think about it...in school, your relationships with your friends, your goals, your family.

You have the opportunity to influence any of these situations by first focusing on your energy and then what energy you give to those situations.

So today's goal, and mine as well, is to really focus on what energy you're putting in to all aspects of your life. Are you up for the challenge?

'I Need Your Help! Asia Tour Here I Come ' -- By Malaia Simms

This summer my sister and I are going on a tour of Asia with the Young People's Chorus of NYC. On this tour we will be visiting Hong Kong, Shanghai, Tokyo, and more. For the past month I have spent almost all of my time figuring out ways to fundraise for this trip. Instead of asking my parents for all of the money, I want to raise some money on my own.
One source I am using is selling Silpada jewelry. Silpada is all sterling silver. It attracts people of all ages. Another source is a website known as "Indiegogo". This website helps raise funds for projects. It has been a bit discourgaing because I'm unfortunately not getting the response I would like, but slowly and surely responses are starting to come in!
This is a very important trip for my sister and I. Being able to travel the world at this age is something most teenagers do not get to do. I feel blessed by the opportunities I have been given and on this tour I am hoping that I will broaden my horizons by traveling to another continent and experiencing new cultures. As a young adult, I am always willing to learn new things.I am always willing to be #GirlFearless
If you are reading this visit, I'd greatly appreciate it if you could donate and/or share my campaign every little bit helps: igg.me/at/Malaiaandkaliatourasia

Time Management -- Important At Any Age by Malaia Simms

Recently I have been busy beyond belief! I know while you are reading this you are probably thinking isn't everybody busy?

Well yeah! A lot of people are, but that doesn't mean they know how to manage their time to get things done while also having enough time to play. I am a teenager! Shouldn't i have a lot of time to play?

But I'm so active I tend not to, so I had to take on the responsibility of time management at a really young age. So far I haven't been so great at it but recently, as my schedule continued to overflow, I started to focus on my time management skills more. You will be surprised at how much that skill ties into other aspects of your life as well.

Once I began to work on this a bit more, I noticed the doors of freedom and playtime opened up. LOL
I thought it was impossible, but it happened. Time management is a trait of a FEARLESS girl and with this I've become even more FEARLESS than before.
